Producers Kevin McCollum & Lucas McMahon and Mike Lavoie & Carlee Briglia are delighted to announce that the Tony Award-winning smash hit comedy OH, MARY! will have its West End premiere at the Trafalgar Theatre from 3 December 2025, with tickets on sale from 12 noon today, Friday 3 October.
Directed by Tony Award-winner Sam Pinkleton and written by Tony Award-winner Cole Escola, the production will star Mason Alexander Park as Mary Todd Lincoln, alongside Kate O’Donnell as Mary’s Chaperone, Oliver Stockley as Mary’s Husband’s Assistant, Dino Fetscher as Mary’s Teacher and Giles Terera as Mary’s Husband. OH, MARY! will run until 25 April 2026.
Mason Alexander Park is a nonbinary performer and writer whose West End credits include Margaret in Jamie Lloyd’s Much Ado About Nothing and Ariel in Lloyd’s The Tempest (Theatre Royal Drury Lane), as well as The Emcee in Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, which earned them a WhatsOnStage Award nomination. Their stage work also includes the first Broadway National Tour of Hedwig and the Angry Inch and I Am My Own Wife at Long Wharf Theatre. On screen, they have appeared in Quantum Leap (NBC), The Sandman and Cowboy Bebop (Netflix), Critical Role: The Legend of Vox Machina (Amazon), and the feature film National Anthem, which premiered at SXSW in 2023.
Kate O’Donnell is a Manchester-based performer, writer, director and curator. Her theatre credits include Big Girl’s Blouse (Soho Theatre), You’ve Changed (The Lowry), Feste in Twelfth Night (Royal Exchange), and Gypsy (Royal Exchange). She also curated the Trans Vegas Arts Festival and co-created the cabaret collective Trans Filth and Joy, which appeared at the Royal Festival Hall as part of the Meltdown Festival.
Oliver Stockley’s theatre work includes Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends at the Sondheim Theatre, Maria Friedman & Friends at the Menier Chocolate Factory, and The Great Gatsby at the Actor’s Church. Dino Fetscher, Olivier Award-nominated for his role in The Normal Heart at the National Theatre, has also appeared in Torch Song (Turbine Theatre), As Is (Trafalgar Studios), and Ghost Stories (Arts Theatre), with screen credits including Fool Me Once, Silent Witness, The Split, Years & Years, Gentleman Jack, Humans, Cucumber and Banana. Giles Terera, who won an Olivier Award for originating Aaron Burr in Hamilton, is currently playing the title role in Hamlet at Chichester Festival Theatre, and his extensive credits include Othello (National Theatre), Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom (National Theatre), Dr. Strangelove (Noël Coward Theatre) and Rosmersholm (Duke of York’s).
Cole Escola, the playwright, won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play for OH, MARY!, which also earned them accolades including a New York Drama Critics’ Circle citation, Drama League, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards, as well as recognition as a Pulitzer Prize finalist. Their television credits include Search Party, At Home with Amy Sedaris, Difficult People, Mozart in the Jungle and Ziwe. They were also a writer on Hacks (HBO) and The Other Two (Comedy Central).
Sam Pinkleton, who won the Tony Award for directing OH, MARY!, is also known for his choreography on seven Broadway shows, including the acclaimed Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812. His UK credits include choreographing Stephen Sondheim’s Here We Are at the National Theatre.
A dark comedy about Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, OH, MARY! explores unrequited yearning, alcoholism and suppressed desires through Escola’s absurdist lens. Declared “one of the best comedies in years” by The New York Times, the show won Tony Awards for Best Leading Actor in a Play and Best Direction of a Play, as well as Drama League Awards for Outstanding Play and Direction. It premiered off-Broadway in 2024 before transferring to Broadway’s Lyceum Theatre, where it broke box office records and continues to play to sold-out houses.
The creative team includes scenic design by dots, costume design by Holly Pierson, lighting design by Cha See, sound design and music by Daniel Kluger, sound design by Drew Levy, wigs by Leah J. Loukas, arrangements by David Dabbon, and casting by Stuart Burt CDG. Executive producers for the West End production are Wessex Grove.
