Sofi Berenger, Executive Producer and CEO, and the team at King’s Head Theatre are delighted to announce the upcoming season running from January to August 2026, now on sale. The season features two major musical premieres, a revival of a seminal gay play, a Bruntwood Prize-winning work, a new play from the writers of The Gang of Three, and the new venue’s first dance piece.
The season begins with Already Perfect (9 January – 15 February), a new musical written by and starring Tony Award-winner Levi Kreis (Million Dollar Quartet, Hadestown) and produced by celebrated Broadway drummer and Tony-winning producer Larry Lelli. Set in a dressing room, the musical explores faith, identity and sexuality, with a score ranging from gospel to ballad.
From 19 February – 22 March, Phil Porter’s Bruntwood Prize-winning two-hander Blink is revived in a new production produced by Metal Rabbit Productions and directed by Simon Paris. Updated for the digital age, it stars Broadway World Award winner and YouTube sensation Abigail Thorn (Philosophy Tube, The Prince).
Tom Salinsky and Robert Khan (The Gang of Three) return from 26 March – 3 May with In the Print, directed by Josh Roche. Set against the Battle of Wapping in 1985, the play explores Rupert Murdoch’s confrontation with the print unions in a story of power and politics that reshaped British media.
From 6 May – 7 June, the theatre’s LATER programme welcomes Derrière on a G String, a riotous dance and physical theatre piece blending classical music, camp comedy and homoerotic mischief, directed by Alfred Taylor-Gaunt and starring Sammy Moore.
Co-produced by King’s Head Theatre Productions and Lauren Reed Productions, Patrick Wilde’s landmark 1992 gay play What’s Wrong with Angry? returns from 10 June – 5 July. A precursor to Heartstopper and Sex Education, Wilde’s story of two schoolboys under Section 28 remains as urgent as ever, in a revival directed by Scott Le Crass.
The season closes with the world premiere of Here Comes J. Edgar – A Musical Comedy (10 July – 16 August), co-written by Harry Shearer (The Simpsons, Spinal Tap) and Tom Leopold (Cheers, Seinfeld), with music by Peter Matz. Directed by Josh Seymour, this bold new musical charts the extraordinary life of FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover, blending politics, sexuality and satire in the style of a 1950s musical comedy.
Now entering its third year in its 220-seat home, King’s Head Theatre continues to break new ground with world premieres, revivals, and its acclaimed LATER programme. Sofi Berenger said: “This season feels like a landmark moment. It reflects the ambition and brilliance of the artists we’ve worked with since opening our new building, and celebrates the momentum we’ve built over the last two years. I couldn’t be more excited to share it with audiences.”
Accessible tickets remain at the heart of the theatre’s mission, with Pay What You Can performances, £10 tickets at every show, and schemes including the KHT Artists Club, Under 35s Membership, and local N1 Membership.
