Renowned film and stage actor John Malkovich will play President Coriolanus Snow in the first-ever stage adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ internationally acclaimed The Hunger Games. His performance will appear on screen at every show, creating an innovative stage-meets-screen experience unlike anything seen before.
Malkovich said: “I’m delighted to join the world premiere production of The Hunger Games in London, bringing this iconic story to the stage. Playing President Coriolanus Snow will be thrilling, because I have long been an admirer of Suzanne Collins’s novels, the films, and Conor McPherson’s writing. It is a privilege to take on this role.”
He joins a cast led by Mia Carragher as Katniss Everdeen, Euan Garrett as Peeta Mellark, Joshua Lacey as Haymitch Abernathy, Tristan Waterson as Gale Hawthorne, Tamsin Carroll as Effie Trinket, Stavros Demetraki as Caesar Flickerman, Nathan Ives-Moiba as Cinna & Mayor, Sophia Ally as Prim Everdeen & Ensemble, and Ruth Everett as Mrs. Everdeen & Ensemble.

Performances will begin at the brand-new Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre, a 1,200-seat purpose-built venue designed especially for this production, from Monday 20 October 2025, with a press night on Wednesday 12 November 2025.
The live stage production is adapted by Conor McPherson from Collins’ groundbreaking first novel and Lionsgate’s hit film, and directed by Matthew Dunster (2:22 – A Ghost Story, Hangmen, The Pillowman). The Hunger Games has sold over 100 million copies worldwide and has been translated into 52 languages. Its film franchise grossed more than $3.4 billion globally, with a new instalment, Sunrise on the Reaping, due for release by Lionsgate on 20 November 2026.
