Hold on to your sandworms – the ghost-with-the-most is heading to the West End. After smash-hit runs on Broadway and a major US tour, Beetlejuice: The Musical will make its long-awaited London debut at the Prince Edward Theatre, a Delfont Mackintosh Theatre, with performances beginning in May 2026.
The London production reunites the acclaimed Broadway creative team, with a book by Scott Brown and Anthony King, music and lyrics by Eddie Perfect, and direction by two-time Tony Award winner Alex Timbers (Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Here Lies Love). Tickets go on general sale Thursday 30 October 2025.
Based on Tim Burton’s beloved 1988 film, the show follows Lydia Deetz, a “strange and unusual” teenager whose world collides with a pair of recently deceased housemates and the chaotic demon Beetlejuice. With its gleefully irreverent humour, jaw-dropping design, and a score “out of this Netherworld,” the production promises a terrifyingly funny ride full of mischief, mayhem, and monstrous fun.
The musical’s creative team includes choreography by Connor Gallagher, scenic design by David Korins, costumes by William Ivey Long, lighting by Kenneth Posner, sound by Peter Hylenski, projections by Peter Nigrini, puppetry by Michael Curry, and special effects by Jeremy Chernick. Full casting for the West End run will be announced soon.
Originally opening on Broadway in 2019, Beetlejuice: The Musical has since played internationally in Tokyo, Seoul, Melbourne, and is set to open in Abu Dhabi this November. The show has become a global cult hit, thrilling audiences with its outrageous wit and big, spooky heart.
